 TopILL request procedure

Please go to the Modalités pour les bibliothèques page (in French) in the Espace professionnel section of the Catalogue des bibliothèques du Québec (CBQ) to view the ILL request procedure depending on if you represent:

  • a library with an ISO-compliant ILL software (version 2.0);
  • or a library without an ILL management system.

 Top BAnQ's ILL terms and conditions

All the terms and conditions of BAnQ's ILL service are in compliance with BAnQ's interlibrary loan policy Politique de prêt entre bibliothèques de BAnQ (in French), and are prescribed by an administrative by-law (in French).

Materials loaned

BAnQ makes a very wide collection of materials available for ILL purposes. However, certain items are not made available through the ILL service because of their fragility, format, medium, value, rarity, intended clientele or high demand, or in keeping with the mandates and objectives of collection development.

Special conditions

Some ILL documents, including those from the National collection and the Centre québécois de ressources en littérature pour la jeunesse (CQRLJ – in French), can only be used for in-house reference, on the premises of the borrowing library.

Borrowing audio books for subscribers to the Service québécois du livre adapté (SQLA)

Québec libraries can borrow audio books from BAnQ's universal collection for SQLA subscribers who are also members of their library. Audiobooks made available to SQLA subscribers through ILL are not adapted materials, but commercial editions that are available to all.
