Who can subscribe?

The service is offered free of charge to all Quebecers with perceptual disabilities.

In order to read works recorded, adapted equipment is needed. The equipment is loaned at no cost to persons who meet the eligibility criteria of the Visual Devices Program of the Régie de l'assurance maladie du Québec (RAMQ).

How ?

Subscribers who were registered with the Service québécois du livre adapté (SQLA) before March 11, 2005 and have authorized the transfer of their record become subscribers to the Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec (BAnQ) automatically.

Anyone wishing to subscribe to the SQLA must fill out the subscription form provided for that purpose (Form for registration with the SQLA, [PDF file, 36 KB] in French only) or (Form for registration with the SQLA, [Word file, 776 KB] in French only) and must attach an attestation of his or her perceptual disability made out by a relevant professional authority. The form is available at the Grande Bibliothèque, in public libraries and at rehabilitation centres of the ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux (MSSS). It can also be requested by, phone.

Please note, however, that it is not possible to register on line. In all cases, the form must be printed, signed and returned, together with the medical attestation, to the following address:
