Located in Trois-Rivières, BAnQ Trois-Rivières covers a territory with an area of 46,674 square kilometres. It is part of the network of 10 Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec (BAnQ) archives centres located throughout Québec. Dedicated to the preservation and development of the region's government, civil and private archives, it offers researchers and the public a consultation room and efficient personnel to guide them in the use of the wide range of materials the centre holds.

Every year, it welcomes thousands of patrons, essentially from the educational, professional and genealogical sectors. They use the centre's services for research concerning the history of their families, localities or regions.

It houses a room with five computers, seven microfilm readers, a study room for groups that can hold up to 15 people and a library containing more than 4000 volumes and periodicals concerning the history and genealogy of the Mauricie and Centre-du-Québec regions.
