The Grande Bibliothèque provides study areas for students

Since January 12, elementary, secondary, college and university students of all ages can use the Grande Bibliothèque’s Wi-Fi and have a quiet place to study and do individual work.

Student card required

Students must show a student card or other kind of student ID to enter, and wear a face covering at all times. Study spots are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.


  • Using a computer station (1-hour time limit);
  • Using a study spot and the free Wi-fi (no time limit).

Not allowed

  • Accessing the stacks is not allowed: anyone who wants to use or borrow a book must have placed it on hold beforehand;
  • Working in teams is not allowed;
  • Printing documents is not allowed.

In the meantime, other users can continue to take advantage of the following services: picking up items previously placed on hold and remotely accessing the reference desk.

While the province-wide curfew from 8 pm to 5 am is in effect, the Grande Bibliothèque will operate according to the following schedule:
