More services now available at BAnQ

Users can once again browse the stacks at the Grande Bibliothèque, and make an appointment to use the reading rooms at the National Library and the archives centres.

At the Grande Bibliothèque, users can now:

  • access the stacks and the collections, except the National Collection and newspapers;
  • borrow materials without having to place them on hold;
  • have the use of more study spots for individual work, reading armchairs and computer stations;
  • make an appointment to use the fablab equipment at Le Square;
  • speak with a librarian;
  • shop at BAnQ’s Boutique, open from Tuesday through Saturday, from 11 am to 5 pm.

The Grande Bibliothèque is open:

  • Tuesday through Friday: from 10 am to 7 pm
  • Saturday and Sunday: from 10 am to 5 pm

At the National Library and the National Archives, users can now:

  • make an appointment to go to the National Collection, at the Grande Bibliothèque;
  • make an appointment to go to the National Library, at Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie;
  • make an appointment to go to the archives centres in Gatineau, Québec City, Montréal, Trois-Rivières, Sherbrooke, Rouyn-Noranda, Rimouski, Gaspé, Saguenay and Sept-Îles.

Users wishing to view materials on site at these facilities must contact us to make an appointment.

In the meantime, users can continue taking advantage of the following services: picking up items previously placed on hold and remotely accessing the reference desk.
