SQLA: Service québécois du livre adapté - Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec.

Welcome to the
Service québécois du livre adapté portal

Hands reading braille.

Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec (BAnQ) offers all Quebecers with perceptual disabilities the Service québécois du livre adapté (SQLA). The SQLA is part of a range of services for persons with disabilities.

The portal of the SQLA of BAnQ provides information about the many free services available to persons with perceptual disabilities. First of all, the portal of the SQLA of BAnQ enables everyone to be aware of the services of BAnQ and to consult the catalogue of adapted documents. It enables subscribers to the SQLA to borrow those documents or to consult them on line, when digital versions are available. The borrowing of adapted documents can be arranged in the Grande Bibliothèque or by postal mail.

The collection of the SQLA is composed of the collections transferred from the Institut Nazareth et Louis-Braille (INLB) and La Magnétothèque under an agreement between those two institutions and the BNQ. The BNQ added several hundred titles to those initial collections. New titles are added regularly to the French-language adapted book collection in order to meet the needs of the clientele: braille books, audio books, digital documents and multimedia works.

We invite you to consult the SQLA portal regularly to keep abreast of the new services to be added.

The staff of Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec (BAnQ) welcomes you and wishes you a pleasant visit.
