Besides taking advantage of the multilingual collection, you can borrow language learning methods or bilingual dictionaries from the language and linguistics collection. Whether you're at the Grande Bibliothèque or connected from a remote access, you can consult magazines and newspapers from around the world in several foreign languages, in printed or electronic form.
If you are in the process of learning French, you might want to browse through the literacy support collection (For all ages), where the works are selected on the basis of criteria such as ease of reading and accessibility to a large public.
The rich and varied documents of the Québec heritage collection and the universal lending and reference collection make for fascinating discoveries.
The services for newcomers include training activities scheduled in the calendar of activities of the Grande Bibliothèque, as well as information sessions on settling in Québec's regions.
BAnQ is pleased to collaborate with the ministère de l'Immigration et des Communautés culturelles du Québec to provide these services and resources to newcomers.
