Whether you are a researcher, a book professional, a teacher, a student, a simple fan of children's literature or nostalgic about your childhood readings, the Centre québécois de ressources en littérature pour la jeunesse has a wealth of materials to explore.
The centre is accessible to all adults interested in children's books. It is located on Level M in a closed room adjacent to the children's section (Espace Jeunes). Users have three work tables at their disposal, as well as a multimedia station providing access to databases specializing in children's and young adult literature.
The centre's collection groups together more than 50,000 documents devoted exclusively to French-language children's literature, published in Québec and elsewhere. This is complemented by a reference collection and the main journals and magazines specializing in children's literature. The works in the collection are for in-library consultation and are available for interlibrary loan according to established policy in that regard.
The centre offers reference services, and plans to organize educational and other activities, as well as exhibitions on various themes related to children's and young adult literature and to young readers.
The centre is an inestimable resource, unique in North America, whose goal is to contribute to spreading the appreciation of Québec children's literature both locally and internationally.
