Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec (BAnQ) presents, in collaboration with the McCord Museum, Accueil Bonneau, La rue des Femmes and L’Itinéraire, the Vues de la rue exhibition in BAnQ Vieux-Montréal’s Atrium.

This exhibition of photos and stories turns the spotlight on Montréal as seen through the eyes of the homeless or of women and men struggling with various hardships. The images and texts of Vues de la rue are inspired by archival photos, also part of the display, drawn from the collections of BAnQ and the McCord Museum.

The participants photographed specific city locations that have left a mark in their life’s journey. Their stories, illustrated with archival materials and personal photos, echo memories of days gone by and encourage viewers to reflect on a number of social issues against the backdrop of key moments in the city’s development.
